Take a passenger ride in this company car stalwart that at one stage even out sold the Sierra
The Cavalier Mk2 replaced the Mk1 in 1981. The new car was a hatchback and front wheel drive and it went head to head in the lucrative fleet market with the Ford Sierra which retained the rear drive format of the Cortina. This battle was to continue throughout the 1980s and although the Cavalier held its own, in the end the Sierra was the winner in overall sales numbers.
Both cars were extensively and regularly facelifted with a Mk3 version of the Cavalier being launched in 1988. By that stage both Ford and Vauxhall could be bought in both hatchback and booted forms. The Cavalier was replaced by the Vectra in 1995 by which time more than 1.8 million had been sold.
This car is also available to drive but if you are too young to drive or just feel more comfortable as a passenger then this 10 minute experience is a great option
