It is not difficult to understand the appeal of the Rover P4 which was a stalwart of the Rover range from 1948 – 1964. These were solid, reliable and comfortable cars and although they became rather disparagingly labelled the “Auntie “ Rovers, Auntie would have found that this version matched a good turn of speed to a high degree of comfort. The styling might appear a bit staid now but needs to be viewed in a 1950s context when it was genuinely modern and definitely upmarket.
