Wheels for the super sales executive experience a passenger ride in this popular company car
The Sierra replaced the Cortina in 1982 and initial reaction was that retaining rear wheel drive and the futuristic Jelly Mould styling would hurt sales. In fact once all the outgoing Cortinas had been sold, the Sierra sold strongly with 157,000 finding a home in 1983.
A facelift in 1987 also saw the introduction of a saloon version called the Sapphire which had a boot instead of the hatchback. The facelift was a great success ensuring that the Sierra comfortably outsold the Vauxhall Cavalier. The Cosworth Sierra was raced with huge success and became the weapon of choice for heavyweight boy racers!
This car is also available to drive but if you are too young to drive or just feel more comfortable as a passenger then this 10 minute experience is a great option
