Ford really hit the jackpot with the Cortina which sold in big numbers in all its guises. Like the Escort and Fiesta, the Cortina was substantially redesigned and facelifted ensuring that motorists kept coming back for more. In 1979 over 193,000 Cortinas were sold in the UK demonstrating how well Ford had read the market. The early Cortinas have achieved some immortality due to the GT and Lotus versions but the later cars have survived in tiny numbers with the Mk3 and subsequent cars being particularly rare.
This car is also available to drive but if you are too young to drive or just feel more comfortable as a passenger then this 10 minute experience is a great option
